Like the Hurdy Gurdy, this is essentially a working model which demonstrates the functions of the device. The major components are all there, and it actually does project a short film loop - turning the crank not only moves the film, but a generating coil provides enough power for a small LED lamp.

While this is definitely on the complex site, the build was not difficulty and took around six hours. Our model has proven surprisingly sturdy.
