Incorporated into this particular one is a small plate by the Jeannette glass company, circa 1938. The pattern is called Swirl, in Ultramarine. These panels are all created using the copper foil (Tiffany) method, and are completed with a zinc frame. Colors and textures are chosen specifically and individually to complement the Depression glass. In this case, the large triangular corner pieces are also antique glass in a swirl pattern. The picture with the white background gives a good sense of the color, while the other better shows off the varied texture of the glass.
The piece measures approximately 13" square, and because of the size should be hung from a window frame - there are two hanging loops attached. Upon request, we will attach up to 10" of brass chain from each loop to make hanging easier. If longer chain is needed, this can also be done for a small additional charge.
A note on stained glass shipping: All of our pieces are packed EXTREMELY well. We use multiple layers of bubblewrap, cardboard, styrofoam peanuts, and roomy boxes to ensure you receive each piece in perfect condition. Because of this extra protection, the shipping cost you see may be based on dimensional weight (the box size) rather than the actual weight. We do NOT charge any additional fees for the packing material or the time involved. In short, while the shipping for glass may be a bit higher than expected, we are not "padding" the prices - you pay the price that USPS charges us.
